by Vishnu, your elephant head a gift from Indra, God of the

benedictions bestowed upon you at your birth by Surya, Chandra,

Significance
of different Deities in India
Ancient sages and saints of India, while advocating the One
Supreme Reality (universal consiousness) attributed certain
specific powers and qualities to every Indian Deity. Different
Indian Deities like Lord Brahma (Creation), Lord Vishnu (Protection
and Sustenance), Lord Shiva (Recreator), Lord Rama (Ideal
Life), Lord Krishna (Perfection in action), Lord Ganesha (Good
Luck), and Lord Hanuman (Physical Strength) and Goddesses
like Durga (Mental Strength), Lakshmi (Money) and Saraswati
(Wisdom) are all manifestations of same One Supreme Reality
which manifests itself according to desire, need, requirement
of the Devotee/worshipper. This is based on Vedic Truth :
As you think, so you become”
Lord Ganesha
is the combination of all the powers and qualities which are
there in all the Deities.
That is why Lord Ganesha is known as Deity of Deities and
Lord of Good Luck. Good Luck does not mean only money; it
also means good health, happiness and prosperity for oneself
and for all the members, of one’s family which is ensured
to its Devotees by Lord Ganesha. Lord Ganesha is also renowned
for removing obstacles from one’s life as a person who
is always facing difficulties and hurdles in his life cannot
be happy and prosperous.
Big Bang,
Om and Ganesha
“From contraction to expansion. From a point, a drop,
a bindu expanding into a stream, cascading across the heavens
like a streak of blue light. The bindu expanding, a universe
growing and taking shape. The Omkara(OM)---exploding into
a galaxy of sound and shapes. This is the initial manifestation
of Ganesha. The footprints of a God arriving on the frontiers
of eternity.” Then emerged from formless to form. Ganesha
is the essence of sound. Ganesha is pure universal consiousness.
Ganesha is sat-chit-anand (existence, consiousness and bliss)
-(Prof. John A Crimes, in his book “Ganesha-Song of
the Self” State University of New York, Albany)
All auspicious
occasions start with worship of Ganesha
All over India every Hindu family (whether thy believe Shiva,
Vishnu, Durga, Rama, Krishna or any other Deity) start worship
of Lord Ganesha at the time of marriages, child-naming ceremony,
yagynopavita, house warming ceremonies, start of new business
ventures or at the time of writing any book etc. Even at the
time of writing Mahabharata (world's longest literary work)
Veda Vyas invoked Ganesha.
Ganesha
is known as Vinayaka, leaders of the Deities
Ganesha is Vighanharta (removes obstacles in the lives of
his Devotees). He is also Vighankarta (creates obstacles in
the life of his devotees whenever thy are going to commit
any immoral sinful or self-destructive work. Ganesha is the
most lovable and friendly God and no formal method of worship
is necessary.
Ganesha
is King of Vaastu-Shastra
With Ganesha's presence in the home or office no modification
or alteration, as suggested by Vaastu-Shastra experts, is
required. Some people have made Vaastu-Shastras as a Fear
Shastra for their ulterior motive.
Lord
Ganesha blesses
His devotees in proportion to the devotion and worship offered
to him. In India the worship of Lord Ganesha is more popular
in State of Maharashtra with the result that three-fourth
of wealth of India is concentrated in in Mumbai and other
parts of Maharashtra. Mumbai is financial capital of India.
This state has been uniquely blessed by Ganesha in all respects.
In addition to wealth, the level of health, happiness and
prosperity is also more in this State as compared to other
States of India.
